Russia 1812 - The Road to Moscow
This map shows the route of Napoleon's advance into Russia in 1812. At the start of the campaign the two main Russian armies were dangerously divided, but Napoleon was unable to take advantage of his central position and they were able to unite at Smolensk. After that the Russians continued to retreat east until they turned and fought at Borodino. After that battle the retreat continued and the French were able to occupy Moscow.
