Commander Roger Keyes, c.1914
This picture shows the young Commander Roger Keyes, c.1914, at a time when he was a dashing commander of destroyers. He played a major part in the British naval success at the battle of Heliogoland Bight, and had a distinguished wartime career, peaking with the raids on the U-boat bases at Zeebrugge and Ostend.
