Panzer V Ausf A knocked out by US Troops
This badly damaged Panther V was destroyed by US troops in the Periers area in July 1944. It is probably an Ausf A, identified by the ball mounting for the machine gun and the straight edge to the side of the hull above the tracks. The suspension has clearly suffered critical damage, for the road wheels are level with the drive wheel.
