History

The 395th Bombardment Group was a home-based training unit that was active from February 1943 until April 1944.

The group was activated on 16 February 1943 and was assigned to the Second Air Force. It was used as an Operation Training Unit, preparing groups to use the B-17 in combat. In October 1943 it became a replacement training unit, preparing individual crews to reinforce existing units. It was inactivated on 1 April 1944.
