History

The 469th Bombardment Group was a home-based replacement training unit. It was activated on 1 May 1943 and assigned to the Second Air Force. It was equipped with the B-17 and trained replacement crews who were going to join existing units to fill gaps left by combat losses. The group was disbanded on 1 April 1944.
