Battle of Dundalk, 14 October 1318

Battle in Ireland between the forces of Edward Bruce and those of the English in Ireland. Bruce had invaded Ireland at the instructions of his brother Robert, and had had some initial successes, but he and his allies were defeated at Dundalk and Edward Bruce killed. Bruce's invasion had been a disaster for Ireland, and had seen widespread destruction.
