Battle of Formigny, 15 April 1450

English defeat in the later stages of the Hundred Years War. The French intercepted and defeated a force marching to relieve the siege of Caen, killing 4000 English troops and allowing the French to reoccupy Normandy, originally conquered by Henry V.
