Battle of Gravelines, 13 July 1558

Land Battle between the French and the Spanish, whose victory was aided by English gunnery from the fleet, allied with Spain as a result of the marriage between Mary I and Philip II of Spain (Fifth Hapsburg-Valois War). This battle saw one of the first examples of naval gunnery playing a part in a land battle.
