Chremonidean War, c.266-262 B.C., (Greece)

Revolt of Athens and Sparta against Macedonia rule, in part prompted by rivalry between the successors of Alexander the Great, which led Ptolemy II of Egypt to promise aid to Athens and Sparta in their revolt against Antigonus II of Macedonia. Sparta was defeated in 265 B.C., while Athens surrendered after a two-year long siege by the Macedonians (264-262 B.C.)
