The Lockheed Hudson served with 39 RAF Squadrons, operating first as maritime patrol aircraft with Coastal Command, operating against German submarines and shipping. It later served as a transport aircraft, flew meteorological research flights, fought in the Middle East and Far East and served as a target towing and anti-aircraft calibration aircraft. The Hudson also served in large numbers with the RAAF, RNZAF and RCAF.
