Flakpanzer IV/ 3.7cm Flakzwilling/ Ostwind II

The Ostwind II was a further development of the Ostwind I Flakpanzer, which would have carried twice the firepower, but that never progressed beyond the prototype stage.

The Ostwind II saw the single 3.7cm gun of the Ostwind I replaced with twin 3.7cm Flakzwilling 44 guns (this was the same as the Flakzwilling 43, but with the guns mounted side by side instead of above and below). The new gun required two loaders, increasing the turret crew from two in the Ostwind I to three in the Ostwind II.

A single prototype was built by Ostbau in January-February 1945, but the Ostwind II never entered production.
