Ninja AD 1460-1650, Stephen Turnbull

Ninja AD 1460-1650, Stephen Turnbull

A fascinating book from Osprey 64 pages long and full of interesting stuff on the real ninja, Japan's medieval Special Forces. Great colour plates in the middle of the book illustrate ninja in action, in training and equipment. Sadly the photos of people dressed as ninja and models from the Japanese ninja museum look tacky and can give you the impression the book is less serious than it is.  The content is interesting and factual with details of real ninja operations and actions in and before various battles, which can’t be ignored for the serious student of Japanese warfare. For those people into role playing games this book would make a great resource if you want your ninja accurate. Written by the authoritative Dr Stephen Turnbull
