USS Alabama (BB-8) being scrapped, 1928
Here we see the hulk of the Illinois class battleship USS Alabama (BB-8) being scrapped by Union Shipbuilding of Baltimore, several years after she was sunk in aerial bombing trials. The picture dates to 2 June 1928, seven years after she sank.
