Installing 12in Gun, USS Connecticut (BB-18)
Here we see the starboard 12in gun being installed in the forward turret of the Connecticut class battleship USS Connecticut (BB-18) at the New York Navy Yard on 31 January 1906. The open top to the turret gives some idea of how little space was left after the guns were installed. The absense of the right hand gun lets us see the solid gun mounts.
