Here we see a force of FM-2 Wildcats about to take off from the Casablanca class escort carrier USS Kitkun Bay (CVE-71) on 25 October 1944 during the battle of Samar. In the background another escort carrier appears to be under attack, although the picture isn't entirely clear.
