USS Langley (CVL-27) riding out Typhoon
Here we see the Independence class light fleet carrier USS Langley (CVL-27) riding out a storm, probably the great Typhoon of 18 December 1944 that sank three destroyers. The Langley was one of the ships damaged during that storm.
