Front view of bridges, USS Mississippi (BB-41)
Here we see the front of the bridge structures of the New Mexico class battleship USS Mississippi (BB-41) at the New York Navy Yard on 21 January 1919. At the bottom is the armoured conning tower with five view slots. Above it is the angular front of the navigating bridge, and above that teh open bridge, with some cover above it. Above that is the searchlight platform, arranged around the cage mast.
