USS North Carolina (ACR-12) as Aviation Cruiser, 1917
Here we see a number of Curtiss N-9 seaplanes being carried on the armoured cruiser USS North Carolina (ACR-12), probably in 1917. The North Carolina had been used for the first succesful catapult launch of an aircraft from a ship underway at sea in 1915, although the track seen here isn't the same as the one used in 1915.
