Crashed Nakajima E8N1 alongside USS Parrott (DD-218), Shangai, 1937
This Nakajima E8N 'Dave' Type 95 Reconnaissance Seaplane crashed into the sea alongside the American Clemson class destroyer USS Parrott (DD-218) at Gough Island, Shanghai, during the fighting in August 1937. This forced the Japanese to carry out their salvage operations with an American audience, not ideal as this was a fairly recent aircraft at the time, only having being accepted into service in 1937.
