Boat Deck, USS Rhode Island (BB-17)
Here we see a view looking aft along the port side of the boat deck of the Virginia class battleship USS Rhode Island (BB-17) in 1913. This is clearly a leisure period for many of the crew, who are relaxing along the deck. In the foreground is a 3-pounder gun. To the right we see a 3in gun on top of one of the 8in gun turrets.
