USS San Francisco (C-5), Norfolk Naval Yard, 1902
Here we see the protected cruiser USS San Francisco (C-5) at the Norfolk Naval Yard in February 1902, looking very impressive in her white livery with an elaborate bow shield. She was about to depart for a tour with the European Squadron so presumably had been spruced up to look her best.
