Forward section of USS Virginia (BB-13), 1919
Here we see the forward section of the Virginia Class battleship USS Virginia (BB-13) at Boston on 5 July 1919, carrying troops who were returning from Europe. The sailors in white stand out from the soldiers in their darker uniforms. In this picture we see the forward 12in/ 8in turret, the right bridge wing, and the base of the forward turret. Also note the unshielded gun just below the bridge platform.
