USS Walke (DD-723), Mare Island, 1961 with FRAM II modifications
Here we see the Allen M Sumner destroyer USS Walke (DD-723) at Mare Island on 11 October 1961 after her FRAM II modifications were completed. This gave her a DASH (drone anti-submarine helicopter) hanger and landing pad (to the right of the rear gun), and small 12.75in triple anti-submarine torpedo tubes, one of which can be seen between the funnels. She alao has a new tripod mast to carry the extra electronic equipment required.
