USS Washington (BB-47) being launched
Here we see the partly completed Colorodo class battleship USS Washington (BB-47) being launched on 1 September 1921. She was never completed as she was chosen to be one of the battleships given up to satisfy the terms of the Washington Naval Conference. Instead she was used as a gunnery target and sunk at sea in November 1924.
