USS West Virginia (BB-48) off Pearl Harbor, 1943
Here we see the Colorodo class battleship USS West Virginia (BB-48) off Pearl Harbor on 30 April 1943 on her way to Puget Sound for a major reconstruction. She had been very badly damaged during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, but refloated and repaired enough to allow her to cross the Pacific under her own power. She finally rejoined the fleet in September 1944.
