Avr0 Tudor 8 from the left

Here we see the only Avro Tudor 8, which was produced by equipping the second prototype Tudor I with four Rolls Royce Nene 4 turbojets. Although it isn't obvious in this picture the turbojets were carried in pairs in one nacelle under each wing. The Tudor 8 made its maiden flight on 6 September 1948 and was used for high altitude tests before being broken up in 1951.
