French Sentry in Adrian Helmet, 1915

Here we see a 1915 picture of a French sentry in the newly introduced Adrian Helmet. This steel helmet was named after Intendant-General August-Louis Adrian, and was designed to protect the wearer against shrapnel head wounds, which were causing many casualties in the trenches.
