HMS Garland in Polish Hands, c.1941-42

Here we see the G class destroyer HMS Garland during the time she was in Polish hands, 1940-46, when she was also known as ORP Garland. This icy picture probably dates to the two short periods where she operated in the far north, July 1941 when she took part in the landings on Spitsbergen or May 1942 when she was hit by a German bomb while escorting Convoy PQ 16, and had to go to Murmansk for initial repairs.
