Boarding Parties return to HMS Hotspur, c.1943-45

Here we see two boarding parties returning to the H class destroyer HMS Hotspur after a training exercise directed by the anti-submarine escort training ship Philante. The Philante had originally been built as a private yacht by Thomas Sopwith, but purchased for the Royal Navy in 1939. She was used as an escort training ship in 1943-45. She survived the war, and since 1947 has served as the Royal Yacht of Norway, as the KS Norge.
