Here we see the Humber class monitor HMS Humber in 1914, soon after she was taken over from Brazil while under construction in the UK. We see her very low freeboard and the twin 6in gun turret at the front. Later British monitors tended to carry a bigger main gun, but the Humber had been built to operate on Brazil's rivers, where two 6in guns would have been very powerful.
