HMS Prince of Wales and HMS McDougal (DD-358)

HMS Prince of Wales and HMS McDougal (DD-358)
Here we see the British George V class battleship HMS Prince of Wales next to the American Porter class destroyer HMS McDougal (DD-358). President Roosevelt used the McDougal to moved from the cruiser USS Augusta to the Prince of Wales to meet with Winston Churchil in Placentia Bay, Newfoundland, on 10 August 1941 at the start of the meeting that produced the Atlantic Charter. This picture does give a good idea of the gulf in size between the two types of warship.
