Here we see a Grumman Wildcat about to take off from the Attacker class escort carrier HMS Pursuer during operations off the south of France on 14-15 August 1944, during Operation Dragoon. As one aircraft is taking off, more are waiting at the back of the flight deck with their engines 'turnign over' ready to move next.
