HMS Southdown from HMS Holmes
Here we see the Type I Hunt class destroyer HMS Southdown seen from the Captain class frigade HMS Holmes (K581) as they were both guarding the supply lines between the south coast of England and Normandy. Part of one of the supply convoys can be seen in the background. In the foreground we get a good view of the Holmes's rear 3in gun, with its crew watching the convoy, and behind that two depth charge racks.
