This page from Lt D.W. Gay's 'War Effort' covers Raid 19, a nuisance raid.
Raid 19 was a nuisance raid on a rail bridge at Sacile, on 24 February 1945. The idea was to stop the Germans repairing a bridge that had been damaged on the previous night by dropping delayed action bombs around it. However the raid was a 'lemon' so failed in its objectives.
Many thanks to Martin Hampton, the son in law of Lt. Gay, for sending us this material. These pages come from Gay's own private notebook which began with similar infomation to his flight log, but became more detailed, and also included a number of interesting items that had been pasted in.
