Hawker Hunter F.G.A. Mark 70

The Hawker Hunter F.G.A.Mark 70 was the designation given to four aircraft sold to the Lebanon in 1965. The aircraft were converted from former Belgian F.Mk 6s, and were brought up to the F.G.A.9 standard before being delivered between September 1965 and September 1966. The aircraft operated alongside a number of F.Mark.6s that had been provided with American money/ During the Israeli invasion of 1982 the Hunters operated from a section of highway north of Beirut, although without much impact.

The same mark number was also unofficially used to describe two trainers delivered to Saudi Arabia in 1966, but these were officially T.Mk.7s.
