Douglas BD-1 and BD-2

The Douglas BD was the US Navy designation for nine A-20 Havocs, used as high speed target tugs.

BD-1

The designation BD-1 was given to a single A-20A loaned to the US Navy for a short period. After testing it as a tug the Navy requested more aircraft.

BD-2

Eight A-20Bs were given to the Navy, where they were given the designation BD-2. They were operated by Marine utility units as high speed target tugs, to provide more realistic targets during training.
