Plan of Protective Deck, USS Nebraska (BB-14)
Here we see a plan of the Protective Deck on the Virginia class battleship USS Nebraska (BB-14). The centre of this space was taken up by the top of the boiler rooms, with the vents, exhausts and uptakes from the boilers. At either end we have the armoured barbette supporting the main gun turrets. Along each side are a run of store rooms.
