Plan of Stern Area of Protective Deck, USS Nebraska (BB-14)
Here we see a plan of the stern area of the Protective Deck on the Virginia class battleship USS Nebraska (BB-14). This area is split between a large area around the barbette for the main guns (possible the top of the engine room), and a series of store rooms along each side of the ship. The dotted circles mark hatches coming down from the Berth Deck above. Note the many hoists passing through this deck to the ammo stores below.
